Smörgåsbord

Today I have a nice smorgasbord of pictures - a little something for everyone. Just got a new Canon G11 (thanks for the recommendation Francis) so there are some camera geek photos (for Francis and Dion), some nice flower macros (for the girls, and Romaric when he needs to look sensitive), some dog shots (Francis), some rocks (Bethany), a carcass (for the vegetarians), even have a semi nude topless pic (for Romaric or course). Click on a photo to see it bigger, and sorry for the odd layout, Blogger seems to use the ADHD method of grid systems:

Mt.McLoughlin

Bethany and I took advantage of the nice summer weather and made a trip up our local volcano last weekend. The climb is not difficult, just a walk with a fair bit of snow still around. It was made a bit more interesting by loosing the track in the snow and wandering around the forest for a couple hours until finally finding the trail again. I guess the lesson is to bring a map next time :D Luckily I had a compass and a vague recollection that we should "go east".

We were keeping an eye out for some morels after being inspired by Donn's blog. No such luck, we found some other interesting looking fungi though - if anybody thinks they can identify them I'd be interested (I managed to identify the false morel online).

The only major peak here is Mt.Shasta, dead center on the far horizon.
