Mushrooms
Bethany and I have joined the shroom hunting club so we can compete with Romaric and Donn. Went out this weekend and found tons of mushrooms growing on a soggy Saturday.
The prizes were a handful of Chantrelles and a Lion's Mane (Hericium abietis). We also found some Albatrellus sispansus which is supposed to be edible but most descriptions don't make it sound that appealing so we didn't bother.
Our edibles:

The inedible but nice looking chantrelle variety, Gomphus floccosus:

The finished meal, Chantrelles sauteƩd with garlic, on steak. Delicious

We found a suggestion online to bread and fry the Lion's Mane. It was good but it seemed to overwhelm the flavour of the mushroom too much. I think a simple sauteƩ in garlic will be called for next time:

A very large bolete, these were everywhere and HUGE. Not sure if it is a King Bolete but it was very slimy and unappetizing by the time we got it home so it went in the trash.

Variations of this Coral fungi were everywhere. I think this is Ramaria magnipes. Some variations are edible but some apparently cause the "diarrhea experience" so we chose not to eat this one this time (maybe next time we will be ready for the "experience")
